Quirk
Quirk is an epic video game concept developed during the FSU Department of Computational Science's first class on game design. The class brought together students from all backgrounds and majors (graphic design, programming, creative writing, anthropology, etc.) to develop and create a video game using Blender, an open source 3D modeling program and game engine.
Character design for the main character, Quirk, the silent hero of the story. Details the front, back, and side views of the character, as well as the colors to be used during texturing/rendering.
Concept art for the first boss of the game, an evil plant beast called Chlorokyll.
Concept art for one of the game environments, the Steamsmith’s Lab.
The infographic (right) details the elemental tetrad (mechanics, aesthetics, story, and technology) on which the video game, Quirk, was designed. Created for a poster (left) explaining the team’s design process, which was displayed during FSU’s Department of Computational Science Expo 2010.
